Serum, Voltage and Bladerunner formed Kings Of The Rollers after an impromptu three-way back-to-back set on Rough Tempo Radio drew interest in booking them together. Serum and Bladerunner had worked as a pair since 2005, and Serum described them as an established double act before Voltage joined the group. Each member had already built a solo career, releasing music on Metalheadz, Ram, Reinforced and V. The trio said they preferred making music together, though they sometimes sent each other ideas and project files in advance. Kings Of The Rollers are a UK drum-and-bass group.
The trio described their approach as drawing on drum and bass from 1996–97, refreshed with their own ideas and rolling beats. They released the Chin Swinger EP, containing “Chin Swinger” and “War Of The Worlds”, and followed it with the Rave Alarm EP. In 2018, Kings Of The Rollers signed an exclusive deal with Hospital Records. Their track “Burnt Ends” also arrived that year and helped establish the group. The 2019 self-titled album came out on Hospital Records, with Inja, MC Bassman, Queen Rose, Chimpo, Redders and Navigator among its collaborators.
In 2020, Kings Of The Rollers released the single “You Got Me (S.P.Y Remix)” on Hospital Records with S.P.Y. That year, the group also released “Badboy Business (feat. Kate Stewart & Mr. Williamz) [Kings Of The Rollers Remix]” as a single on Cult.ure with Mr. Williamz and SHY FX. The single “Style & Pattern”, made with Yung Saber, followed on Hospital Records in 2022.
The 2026 single “Should've Known Better”, made with Grace Barton, is a later release from the trio. Kings Of The Rollers played at The Ribble Valley on 16 July 2026, UNO MALTA on 3 September and Silverworks Island on 5 July. Their October dates included UNLOCKED on 8 October and Depot Mayfield on 9 October. The group also played The Garden Tisno on 1 July 2026.
