Absys Records began in Dublin in 2008, founded by Pawel Sho and Domel, who first called it Abysysyndrome before shortening the name to Absys. The label centres on drum and bass, with releases in atmospheric styles and jungle. Its early output included free digital tracks meant to introduce lesser-known producers, alongside a CD compilation with artists from Poland, Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom and elsewhere in Europe.
In 2010 Absys issued Dissident’s single Sargasso and its first 12-inch EP. The compilation Missing Fragments, released in 2012, featured deep drum and bass. Electrosoul System, Bop, Dissident and Nuage have released music on the label. In 2024 MC Fava and Snik collaborated on the single Run From You (Original Mix). The digital imprint Absys Digital has issued EPs. In 2018 Pawel Sho converted the label’s studio into a record shop and recording studio, which also serves as its headquarters.
