Satl

In early 2010, Adrian Rybka began making music under the name Satl. From Wschowa, Poland, the producer first drew on house, techno and electro, then found drum and bass a few years later. He has described music-making as a way to express himself and as a therapeutic process. Satl’s work is known for soulful, melodic drum and bass, while also reaching into other genres. Jazz, hip-hop and electronica are among the influences he has named. That mix of starting points sits behind a career spanning productions for The North Quarter, Integral, Shogun Audio and Fokuz Recordings.

Satl’s 2020 EP Lucid Dreams preceded a run of releases that included the 2021 EP Bedroom Producer with a Dream. That EP featured DRS, T.R.A.C. and Tokyo Prose, extending a list of collaborators that also includes Halogenix and Lenzman. In 2022, Satl released the album Gloom on The North Quarter. Rhi, Frank H. Carter III and Saígo contributed vocals to the album, which brought hardware instruments and software into Satl’s production process. The record followed earlier releases for The North Quarter, a label also connected to Satl’s collaborative work with FD.

Satl and FD developed that partnership as LIN000, first presenting the project anonymously. Satl has described the work as a meeting of their different creative influences. In 2024, Satl released the single “So Fly” with DRS and Duskee on Shogun Audio, followed by the single “Bedouin (Satl Remix)” with Phil Tangent and Steo on Integral Records. The following year brought the single “SMTHN” with Halogenix on Gemini Gemini.

Satl’s 2026 performances included appearances at The Cause in August and The Jam Jar in October. Earlier in the year, Satl played Document in July and High Lights - Barking Park in May. The run also included a performance at Runnymede Hall in April and two appearances at QQQ ST. Park in March.
