Grand Theft Audio Recordings UK was founded in 2014 by James and Robbie, and is based in Manchester. The label releases drum and bass, including liquid drum and bass and neurofunk, with jungle also within its remit. It grew from a Manchester drum and bass night run by James; before starting the label, the founders promoted events in the city and made two tracks as Sola, which they wanted to release. The label’s first EP, Vibrations, featured early releases by Sola and Sl8r.
Sl8r’s single Lunar // Brook followed in 2015, while Sola’s debut album, Stars Align, arrived in September 2022 and the remix set Stars Realigned in 2023. Other artists to release on the label include pyxis, Kleu, Fishy and Conrad Subs. Grand Theft Audio Recordings UK also runs events and showcases featuring its artists. For its tenth anniversary, the label issued a five-album project combining new tracks, remixes and selected earlier releases. At the start of 2026, it marked its 100th release with a collection of original tracks and remixes.
