Play Me Records

Play Me Records was founded in Los Angeles, California, in 2009 by Reid Speed and focuses on drum and bass. Its releases include music by Hekler, Synchronice, Noya and KJ Sawka. The label’s output also spans dubstep, trap and breaks. It began with a dubstep focus, then moved toward releasing and championing U.S. drum and bass as that scene gained momentum. Reid Speed said the label was formed to release music, pay artists reliably and support emerging producers’ careers.

In 2010, Play Me Records released Encode EP by Encode. A decade after its founding, the label marked ten years of releases with the 16-track compilation 10 Years of Play Me. It has also launched a sister imprint, Play Me Too. Play Me Records hosts events and showcases for the drum and bass community.
