Smooth N Groove Records began in 2016, founded by Clen and Christal. The label’s first release arrived in May that year: Jrumhand’s “Beaches & Countryside.” It is based in Washington, DC, and Northampton, UK, and its drum and bass releases draw on atmospheric, funky, soulful and rolling sounds. MSDOS released “Inside the Ride / Nothing to Lose” through the label in 2016. Other artists with releases include Furney, Fishy, Dan Guidance and Twintone.
Smooth N Groove Records regularly organizes events and showcases that feature its artists. In 2017, it began co-hosting producer-focused nights with Soul Deep Recordings under the Soul Deep vs Smooth N Groove name. That year, Clen and Christal also partnered with SoulStructure and Scott Allen to host label nights. The label marked its tenth anniversary in 2026 with a compilation of 50 tracks.
