Dub Head turns his first year in Bristol into the ‘Frozen Shadows’ EP on Dispatch

Ukrainian producer Dub Head is back on Dispatch Recordings with the five-track ‘Frozen Shadows EP’, written during his first year in the UK after settling in Bristol.

The EP runs ‘Are They Real’, ‘Skeleton’, ‘Frozen Shadows’ and ‘Closed Eyes’, with ‘Silver Lining Moment’ closing the package as a Bandcamp and streaming exclusive. It hit streaming services on October 30, ahead of the general release on November 13.

In the release notes quoted by Drum and Bass UK, Dub Head, real name Vitalii Petko, describes leaving home, adapting to unfamiliar surroundings and processing events back in Ukraine, and calls the project an “honest audio diary of survival, adaptation, and finding hope through dark times”.

He describes ‘Silver Lining Moment’ as a tribute to Dom & Roland’s ‘Imagination’. Dispatch notes that his relationship with the label goes back to 2016, taking in his ‘Bring You Back Online’ LP and ‘Missed Call’ EP.
