Shopov was playing in a metal band by 16 and moved into electronic music at 18. In 2002, Shopov and Valeri Sholevski, known as Ogonek, began promoting drum and bass in Bulgaria. Shopov became associated with the H.M.S.U. crew and went on to release music as Cooh on Position Chrome, Obscene, Commercial Suicide and PRSPCT. In 2008, Mentally Disturbed released the EP Record the Silence. Cooh’s work also appeared on Ohm Resistance and Mentally Disturbed.
Position Chrome released Cooh’s album ReBirth in 2013, as well as the album Transcension. Cooh and Counterstrike released the single Blood And Steel on PRSPCT. Shopov also makes music as Balkansky, a project he described as a home for softer material than Cooh’s harder sound. Under that name, Shopov worked with kaval player Theodosii Spassov on the album Kuker. Cooh’s other collaborations include the 2007 single Armeny / Monologue with Black Sun Empire, and the 2016 single Monochrome / Meditation with Gancher & Ruin and L 33, released on Position Chrome.
