In 1990, TeeBee began DJing; the Norwegian producer and DJ is Torgeir Byrknes, and his stage name comes from his initials. He entered the drum-and-bass scene in 1996, the year he released his first record. His early music appeared on Rugged Vinyl and Moving Shadow’s Audio Couture imprint before he released music on Certificate 18. A 1998 single, Droids / Otrivin, came out on Moving Shadow. Certificate 18 released his album Black Science Labs in 2000 and Through the Eyes of a Scorpion in 2001. TeeBee won Knowledge Magazine’s Best International Producer award in 2001.
In 2001, TeeBee launched Subtitles Music with fellow Norwegian Kjetil Saagstad. The label later released music by Noisia, Spor, Break and Phace, and TeeBee also runs it as Subtitles Recordings. He performs under the alias Black Science Labs. TeeBee met Calyx as a label-mate on Moving Shadow in 1998; the two began collaborating in 2004. Their joint album Anatomy followed in 2007, released on Momentum Music. The partnership became known as Calyx & TeeBee.
Calyx & TeeBee signed to RAM Records in 2012 and released the album All or Nothing that year. Their 2022 album Plates also came out on RAM Records. TeeBee’s solo album Archives 3 arrived on Subtitles Music in 2020, while the 2022 single Excess was released on Sensationn Muzik Entertainment. That year, TeeBee also released the single I HAD TO with Basi Azul and Suté Iwar on Butterflies and Spikes Records.
TeeBee’s album The Cosmic Carnival was released on Flexout Audio in 2025. TeeBee and Calyx were introduced in 1997 through Moving Shadow and Rugged Vinyl, before beginning to make tracks together later. Norway is TeeBee’s base.
