fabric Records was established in 2000, with Cameron Leslie among its founders. Based in the United Kingdom, the in-house label is linked to fabric, the London electronic-music venue and brand, and is one of four labels associated with it. Its releases range from house and techno to drum and bass, and have appeared digitally, on CD and on vinyl. The first release, fabric01: Craig Richards, came out on November 5, 2001. The fabric mix series includes fabric 15, released in 2004, and fabric 100, released in 2018.
The label has issued compilations, albums, mixes and EPs, including monthly mix compilations; by 2011, its 120th release was FABRICLIVE 60: Brodinski. Some entries in the mix series are curated by fabric staff, with Kate Malcolm overseeing that series. Releases include the 2002 album FABRICLIVE 6: Grooverider (DJ Mix) and the Scratch Perverts compilation Beatdown, issued in 2009 and inspired by their club nights at fabric. Artists with releases on fabric Records include Pola & Bryson, J Majik, Bredren and LSB. In 2026, the label released Flecks / Hash by Bredren, LSB and Max Cooper.
