Forbidden Society Recordings is a drum and bass label established in October 2010 by Czech DJ and producer Jindrich Brejcha, who performs as Forbidden Society. Based in the Czech Republic, it releases neurofunk, atmospheric roller, darkstep and skullstep, with an emphasis on hard, dancefloor-oriented drum and bass. Its events and showcases take place around the world. The label began with a party at Cross Club in Prague, where it later held regular nights roughly every three months.
Its first release, FSRECS 001 by Current Value and Forbidden Society, came out in January 2011. In 2011 the label issued Set It Off / Pain Threshold, a single by Dub Elements and Forbidden Society; the 2014 single Criminal EP Pt. 2 featured Coppa, Forbidden Society and Task Horizon. Released in March 2013, FSRECS 009 included tracks by Audio and Forbidden Society. Its material ranges across rolling drum and bass, experimental pieces, music at 110 BPM and halftime Amen tracks.
