High Focus Records is an independent British label founded in 2010 by rapper and producer Fliptrix. He set it up after Low Life Records collapsed in 2008, first so he could release an album of his own and then as a home for new UK rappers and producers. Its core is hip-hop, from boom-bap to more left-field styles shaped by 1990s US rap, jazz and grime, and it has also put out drum and bass.
Early work with Leaf Dog and Dirty Dike helped the label grow, and The Four Owls and Ocean Wisdom later joined them on the roster. Jman's album Auranography came out in 2013, and Ocean Wisdom's Wizville reached the UK top 40 in 2018. Artists keep control of their lyrics, beats, videos and artwork, while the label backs them with marketing and distribution.
