After building his name on drum & bass stages, Harry Shotta turns back to hip-hop on Odyssey, an autobiographical album shaped by the music and experiences that made him. Its production moves between sample-led boom bap, grime, jungle and D&B, with King Kashmere, Leaf Dog, Telemachus and others behind the boards.
Shotta shifts from the bass-heavy crew cut “Imposter” to the soulful “Legendary” with Fliptrix and Verb T, then gets personal on “Chasing a Buzz” and “Salute,” a tribute to hip-hop. The album also carries the weight of his mentor Skibadee’s passing, framing its genre-hopping journey around legacy, change and finding peace.
