Kannibalen Records was established in 2011 by Montreal electronic act Black Tiger Sex Machine and is based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The label releases bass music in styles such as dubstep, drum and bass, electro and trap. Its artists include Apashe, Black Tiger Sex Machine and Lektrique. The name originated with monthly Kannibalen parties hosted by Black Tiger Sex Machine at Montreal’s Belmont nightclub. Kannibalen Records also hosts events of its own.
In 2018, the label issued Black Tiger Sex Machine’s album New Worlds. It also releases Kannibalen Radio, a podcast published every two weeks. Each instalment is an hour-long DJ mix of electronic music, with both released tracks and unreleased material. Drum and bass artists IMANU and Buunshin have also released music on the label.
