Onyx Recordings is a drum and bass record label based in Brighton, England, and established in 2017. Its releases combine drum and bass with elements of jungle, dubstep and techno, and its roster features both established artists and emerging producers. Chris Wickens founded the label after developing it as a university project at Solent University. Its first release was Mofes's three-track EP Flicker, issued in the first half of 2020. Jam Thieves' track Dexter became the label's first Beatport number-one release.
Onyx Recordings has released music by artists including Hoax, DJ Hybrid and Edlan. In 2020 it issued Break The Ice, a single by Duskee and T95, and a later release was the Surrender EP with Edlan and Sydney Bryce. That year it also organised the three-day online Stay At Home Festival, a livestream that raised more than £30,000 for the NHS and drew over three million viewers, earning a nomination for Best Virtual Festival at the DJ Mag Best of British Awards.
In the same year, Onyx Recordings placed second in Drum&BassArena's Best Newcomer Label award, then won it the following year. In 2021 the label worked with The House of Hi-Fi on the Balance EP, part of an initiative supporting female and non-binary drum and bass artists.
