Four cuts, from “Babylon Club” to “Jah Is Love,” land on the label Hype helped build.
DJ Hype and Tyke go four deep on “Babylon Club”, a new release for Playaz Recordings out today, November 6. The EP runs from its title track through “Spirituality,” “Stixman Warrior” and “Jah Is Love.”
It’s a focused pairing on familiar turf: Hype is one of Playaz’s defining names, while Tyke has made the label a long-running home for his music. That gives this release a clear connection to the label’s own story, rather than just another guest turn on the roster.
There’s no need to overcomplicate the brief: four track titles, two artists, one label with deep roots in drum & bass. The names suggest a spiritual thread running through the set, but the real test is what each cut does once it’s in the mix.
Start with “Babylon Club,” then work through the full EP and see which one earns the pull-up. Babylon Club is out now on Playaz Recordings.
