On Keep The Fire, Rotterdam producer FFF turns jungle into a soundclash: chopped Amen breaks, rolling bass, hoovers and dancehall callouts collide in a run of hard-hitting battle tunes. The clash is musical, built to summon the energy of competing soundsystems rather than literal violence.
FFF also draws on Dutch bubbling, the fast, cut-up dancehall sound he encountered on grainy cassette copies. That influence gives the album’s rough-edged breakbeat pressure a playful, dancefloor-focused streak, and extends his Murder Channel story after 20.000 Hardcore Members Can’t Be Wrong.
