Riya’s third album traces five to seven years of change, written in sequence from the grief of losing her mother through heartbreak, new beginnings and rediscovery. Personal songwriting gives the record its through-line, while soulful textures, live piano and other organic touches shape its emotional pull.
A broad cast of producers—from Etherwood and Bladerunner to L-Side, Zero T and Quadrant & Iris—takes the sound from liquid warmth to weightier rollers. Guest voices including DRS, Collette Warren and Voice MC add color without taking focus from Riya’s story.
