Brighton-based singer and songwriter Hannah Talbot performs as SOLAH, bringing vocals to drum & bass and releasing music as an artist in her own right. Her voice has featured on Shane Codd’s UK Top 10 single “Get Out My Head”, while her work in the genre includes collaborations with Halogenix, GLXY, Pola & Bryson and SpectraSoul. SOLAH has said that personal experience often feeds into her lyrics, and that working with Halogenix encouraged her to try approaches beyond her usual way of writing. She has devoted about a decade to drum & bass and has spoken about wanting recognition beyond her role as a vocalist.
In 2017, SOLAH released the single “Made of Light - Unplugged Version” on Critical Music and was shortlisted for Best Vocalist at the Drum&BassArena Awards. Her collaborations have also included Emperor and Tantrum Desire; “Fiction” is a track with SpectraSoul, while “Made Of Light” features Emperor. She has worked with labels including 1985 Music, Shogun Audio and Spearhead Records, as well as Critical Music. That range of vocal work places her credits across several established drum & bass labels, with her own releases also becoming part of the story.
In 2022, SOLAH became the first female vocalist to sign to Hospital Records and began releasing her own material there. Her album King came out on the label that year. The same year marked a shift towards being recognised as an artist beyond vocal features, a distinction Talbot has described as important. In 2023, she released the single “Weather The Storm” on Soulvent Records with Visionobi. The following year brought “Your Move”, a single on Overview Music with Klinical and Rueben, alongside a BBC Radio 1 Drum & Bass Chilled Mix.
In 2026, SOLAH released the single “Crossroads” on Hospital Records, followed by “Into The Dark”, a single with QZB on Critical Music, and “Fallen Pieces”, a single with Benny Page and Doktor on Dub Shotta. In an interview that year, she described aiming to define the artist she wants to be, balancing uplifting, soulful material with darker, more introspective writing. Her vocals remain central to her work in drum & bass, alongside songwriting and production.
