Jade sets two contrasting moods on this Eatbrain single. “Angry” reaches back to the dark, rough-edged neurofunk of the late ’90s and early 2000s—the era he says shaped his sound—while “Never Be” takes a different route, featuring a female vocal on his first solo track to do so. The pairing captures both the label’s hard neurofunk roots and its appetite for variation.
