Hungarian producer Jade Venom started Eatbrain in 2011 as an artist-centred label and an outlet for his own music. Based in Budapest, it releases drum and bass with a particular focus on neurofunk, while allowing room for experimentation within the genre. Its first release, issued in its founding year, paired Jade with State of Mind on “Here We Go / Audio Hypnosis.” Releases from the label include work by Audio, Mindscape, Telekinesis and Jade Venom, and its output has included albums, EPs and compilations. The 2014 Tales of the Undead LP featured 18 tracks by 23 artists from 15 countries.
Alongside its music, Eatbrain releases merchandise and art. Its events and stage takeovers have taken place at clubs and festivals across Europe and beyond, and Eatbrain Nights is an event brand associated with the label. The label’s releases include The Cult of Bass LP by MNDSCP and Dancefloor/Transformer by Teddy Killerz. Its Budapest operation receives support from Dutch distributor Triple Vision.
