Formed in 2007, Camo & Krooked pair Austrian producers Reinhard “Camo” Rietsch and Markus “Krooked” Wagner. Both had been making music individually before joining forces. The duo’s roots are in drum and bass. Their first album, Above & Beyond, followed in 2010 through Mainframe Recordings. The next year brought Cross the Line, released on Hospital Records; the duo described it as their breakthrough album. An earlier release was the 2008 single “Basswerk 30”, issued on basswerk.
Hospital Records also released Zeitgeist in 2013. In 2017, Camo & Krooked put out Mosaik through Mosaik Musik, RAM Records and BMG. Their label connections also include MODUS. The 2019 single “Set It Off” paired the duo with Jeru the Damaja, while “Nova” was a track made with Noisia. In 2020, they released the album Red Bull Symphonic, working with composer Christian Kolonovits and an orchestra.
That orchestral project involved rearranging Camo & Krooked’s tracks for a performance with the Max Steiner Orchestra in Vienna. In 2022, the duo founded MODUS with fellow producer Mefjus. Their work with Mefjus includes the 2020 single “No Tomorrow”, which also features Sophie Lindinger. In 2024, they released “Lies” on MODUS with Mefjus. Their 2025 single “Lose Control (feat. ILIRA)” featured ILIRA, Mefjus and Wilkinson and came out on Sleepless Music Ltd. They also released “Sunglasses At Night” with Tiga and Zyntherius on Armada Music in 2025. Another 2025 release was Red Bull Symphonic - Johann Strauss 2025 Edition, made with Christian Kolonovits and Wiener Symphoniker and issued through UKF. In 2026, “Redemption” paired Camo & Krooked with Joe Killington and Mefjus on Let It Roll.
