Born On Road is a Bristol-based drum and bass record label founded in 2013 by Aries, Kelvin 373 and Gold Dubs. It focuses on jungle and bass music, with a sound that brings reggae and dancehall together with jungle. The label grew out of underground sound-system culture, and its early releases included music from its founders. Its releases cover jungle, jump-up, ragga and vocal-led styles, drawing on ragga-jungle influences. Born On Road has worked with Benny Page, Chopstick Dubplate and T>I, and its music spans several styles and subgenres while supporting emerging artists.
Born On Road also operates as a DJ collective, rooted in underground free-party and sound-system culture. It received the Best Label award at the Drum&BassArena Awards in 2022 and staged more than 100 events in 2023. Its musical influences include drum and bass, jungle, ragga-jungle, dancehall, bashment and reggae, with an emphasis on vocal-led bass music.
