Based in Rotterdam, PRSPCT Recordings is an independent label founded in 2002 by Thrasher, the name used by Gareth de Wijk, in cooperation with distributor Triple Vision. The label focuses on drum and bass, with a sound combining its harder forms and hardcore; its releases also encompass breakcore and experimental music. Limewax, The Panacea and Counterstrike are among the artists on its roster, and the debut release featured tracks by DJ Hidden and Limewax.
PRSPCT Recordings has released albums by Limewax and music by The Outside Agency. Its five imprints span drum and bass, hardcore and breakcore, while its vinyl sub-label SSSPCR concentrates on outsider techno. PRSPCT XL began in 2004 as events expanded into Nighttown’s main hall in Rotterdam. The label is run by Thrasher and distributed by Triple Vision, and its artists work across genres without a fixed genre focus, drawing on a DIY punk ethos.
