Symmetry Recordings

Symmetry Recordings was founded in 2006 by producer Break, who owns the Bristol-based label. Its music ranges across soulful liquid, rollers and darker experimental drum and bass, with releases issued on 12-inch records as well as albums and singles. The label’s early output was almost entirely Break’s work, before other producers began releasing music through it in 2011. Among its 2006 releases was Break’s single The Truth / Evil Twin. Amoss, Minor Forms, Ed:it and Mefjus have also released music on the label.

Symmetry Recordings released Break’s albums Resistance and Simpler Times, along with Symmetry in 2008. Its 2012 album The Other Side was the label’s third and its first to feature artists besides Break. Label collaborations have involved Break, DLR, SpectraSoul and Calibre. In 2016, the label issued 10 Years of Symmetry to mark its tenth anniversary; a 2018 LP with the same title included collaborations featuring Total Science and SpectraSoul.
