Crucast is a UK-based drum and bass label set up by Skepsis, Darkzy and Notion, all DJs and producers. Based in Oxford, it began in summer 2016 as a YouTube channel for bassline mixes before moving into releases; its output spans bassline, garage, dubstep and drum and bass. Skepsis’s “Goes Like” appeared in 2017, and the label’s artists have included Kanine, Bru-C, Window Kid and Lazcru, alongside Tsuki.
Crucast has held showcases at Rampage, Let It Roll and Hospitality in the Park. It began putting on events in late 2017, with its first party taking place in Oxford that November, and has staged events in Oxford, London and Birmingham. Andy C, DJ EZ and Annie Mac have supported the label. In December 2019, Crucast and Night Bass started a joint project, with most of its tracks made remotely. The label also runs CruClash, a face-to-face DJ battle concept supporting grassroots venues and emerging artists.
