Founded in 2014 by Joe Goss, Jack “Pola” Higgins and Liam Holyoak-Rackal, Soulvent Records is an independent drum and bass label based in East London, UK. Its releases combine liquid funk, jungle and neurofunk, and it holds regular events. Early releases included work by GLXY, BMotion and Pola & Bryson. The label issued Pola & Bryson’s single “The Music” in 2015, then released their debut album, This Time Last Year, in 2016. Soulvent also put out music by Hugh Hardie and TheLena.
The label’s compilation albums include the “Soul Music” series, alongside artist albums such as In:Most’s 16-track Voyager, released in 2020. That year, Soulvent entered a formal partnership with Hospital Records and released the remix project Soulvent Meets Hospital. After starting with DIY operations, Soulvent returned to a more independent footing in late 2023.
