Bladerunner has remixed Aphrodite and Micky Finn’s ‘Bad Ass’, the tune that launched Urban Takeover 30 years ago. ‘Bad Ass (Bladerunner Remix)’ is out now.
The single landed on November 2 as Urbtake-59: one track at 175 BPM, running just over four minutes.
The original ‘Bad Ass !’ came out in 1996 as URBTAKE1, the label’s first release, backed with ‘Drop Top Caddy’ and built on dialogue sampled from the film South Central. Urban Takeover followed it with a remix package in 1998.
Bladerunner, also one third of Kings Of The Rollers, now gets his turn on the label’s first record.
