Bad Taste Recordings

Bad Taste Recordings is a London drum and bass label established in 2007 by Vegas, after his work with Bad Company UK. Its early releases were shaped by Bad Company members dBridge, Maldini and DJ Fresh, and pursued experimental, hard-hitting drum and bass. The label’s background also reaches to the Bad Taste conceptual LP series, issued through BC Recordings in 2005. The Upbeats put out “Tonka / Will Shatner” on the label in 2007; their 2009 album Nobody’s Out There was its second release.

Its music spans neurofunk, liquid and jump up. The label issued the Bad Taste compilation series, which includes Volume 5, as well as Chill Out Zone, a collection of experimental selections and less typical material from its artists. Its associated imprints are Bad Taste Drum & Bass, Bad Taste Music and Black Box. In 2012, Billain’s Batbots, released as BT021, opened a new chapter for Bad Taste Recordings.
