Founded in Rotterdam in 1999 by Dreazz, Fokuz Recordings is based in the same Dutch city and releases drum and bass. Its music ranges across liquid, jungle and neurofunk, with a focus on soulful drum and bass. The label has released music by Alix Perez, Lenzman, Technimatic and Satl. Its output includes vinyl releases, EPs and full-length albums, including Drum Origins’ 2000 release Infinite Orbit / Mystical Fields and Icicle’s 2007 single Ur in my head / Anchorage.
Fokuz formed part of an imprint group alongside Citrus, which focused on neuro-influenced music, and Piruh, associated with harder sounds. Celsius Recordings, Influenza Media and Soul Trader are associated labels. In 2017, Fokuz released Bert H’s debut album All About, after issuing a four-track pre-release EP in September of that year.
