Metalheadz is a British drum and bass label. Goldie set it up in 1994 with Kemistry and Storm, who recruited artists and took charge of press and promotion. Its debut paired Doc Scott’s VIP Drumz and Goldie’s VIP Riders Ghost on a split 12-inch. The label also put out Doc Scott’s single Far Away that year, followed by notable work from Dillinja, Photek, Source Direct and J Majik. Metalheadz is based in London.
In 1995, the label began its weekly Sunday Sessions at the Blue Note in London. Goldie asked Kemistry and Storm to help manage Metalheadz that year. The sessions allowed established producers and emerging artists to present new material. Metalheadz began the Platinum Breakz compilation series with FFRR Records in 1996. Its imprints include Metalheadz Platinum, Platinum Breakz, Razors Edge and Rufige. Goldie left his director position in November 2019. The label celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024.
