Futurebound founded Viper Recordings in 2004 as an independent UK drum and bass label. Its releases include music by Camo & Krooked, Brookes Brothers and ShockOne. Viper Recordings has also issued compilations, including Acts of Madmen, which marked its fifth anniversary in 2009, and Decade of Viper, released for the label’s tenth anniversary in 2014. Other compilation projects include Future Fire, Summer Slammers and the yearly Annual series.
The label’s roster has featured Nero and Metrik, among other artists. Its compilation work also includes 20 Years of Viper, released in December 2024 and bringing together tracks associated with the label. Viper Recordings has hosted stages at festivals and club nights, and operates Viper VIP as a sub-label. The label’s intended sound has drawn on cinematic, forceful and emotive drum and bass, often built around drops.
