Established in 1996 by Tony Colman, who performs as London Elektricity, and Chris Goss, Hospital Records is an independent British drum and bass label based in Forest Hill, South London. The founders first used the label to issue their own music, and its output includes liquid funk. In its founding year, the label put out London Elektricity’s single Sister Stalking. Artists connected with the label include High Contrast, London Elektricity, Netsky and Danny Byrd. Other associated artists are Nu:Tone, Logistics, Metrik and S.P.Y.
London Elektricity’s Song in the Key of Knife appeared in 1998 and brought the label wider attention within drum and bass. Songs in the Key of Knife manages publishing, and Clinic Talent handles bookings. Hospitality is the label’s event brand; it developed from club nights into festivals held internationally. Its festivals include Hospitality in the Park, staged in London, and Hospitality on the Beach, held in Croatia. Med School Music served as an imprint between 2006 and 2019, helping launch Etherwood and Keeno. In 2022, Hospital Records brought Soulvent Records into its imprint roster.
